One Word God Wants to Hear

One fine day Carolyn said “yes” to me, and

that has made all the difference in the world for us.

I like the caption above.  I like the guy who said it.  He’s a good writer from whom a person can learn a lot, also.

But the idea – the seed of the idea is this … God is waiting for our YES to His call and his will.

God doesn’t go around beating down doors and letting himself in.  He knocks, and waits.

That’s critical and important.

And … God wants to hear “YES”.  He wants the door to be opened from the inside.  He awaits an invitation. 

Maybe He has a special mission for us, say, to go somewhere and become His hands and feet.  It could be next door or half-way around the world.  And He listens for our YES.

Or, perhaps we are about to get ourselves in BIG trouble and don’t know it.  We see, we sense that God is putting up roadblocks.  He wants to hear “YES.  I’ll slow down God.  I’ll honor your wisdom and direction even though …”

Man alive, I could write a book about a few times when I’ve run past those subtle hints from God.  I coulda, woulda, should … you know the drill.  And I found grace on the other side of my bullheadedness. 

If we believe in a God who leads and guides our lives, then we set about learning to hear His still, small voice and tuning into his promptings, even when they say “stop”.

Yes … God wants to hear YES. 

YES to his direction.

YES to his plans.

YES to his re-direction.
