Letter Number Six ~ Letters from God

Six

Dear Child:

Do you know that sometimes I laugh out loud?

I watched one of my little ones on the beach just yesterday.  His blonde hair, tanned arms and face made me smile.  And when he ran to his mommy, he giggled and laughed, and jumped into her arms.  The wedding of her open arms and his love made my day.  I couldn’t help myself.

I laughed out loud.

Just as I made the proud peacock and the stately lion, I made all of creation.  It is all for your good pleasure.

Sometimes, you make me laugh.  You fret, your stew, your anguish over the stuff of life and you never come near me.  I can help, you know.

But you stew while I stand nearby.

Come to me.  Let’s go away to a safe, beautiful and carefree place, just for an hour.  Let us laugh and dance, and let us wash your cares away in bursts of giggles, guffaws, and snorts of laughter.

Letter Number Five -Letters from God

LETTER NUMBER FIVE

Dear Child:

Do you love a good conservation?  I do.  So, let’s talk.

You start.  Just open up and chat with me for a while.

Tell me your joys.
Where is the happiest place you’d like to be?
What makes you angry?
Where would you live if you could live anywhere in the world?

Do you like me?
Do you trust me?
Are you disappointed in me at any level?

I can handle these kinds of conversations you know?

So, let’s start.

I’m listening.

Letter Number Four - Letters From God

Letter Number Four

Dear Child:

Hi.  I’m here.  I never left.

I know you felt abandoned last night, and I was there.  I tried to reach you through the confusion of your mind, but your inner voice drowned out my quiet whispers.

Sometimes I will just let you cry, express your concerns, be mad or angry, or whatever emotion you need to express.  You sometimes need to get out all of your emotions.

Finally, when you exhaust yourself and you’ve said everything you need to say, then I hope you will listen as I speak to your heart.

Remember what I wrote recently?  “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

It’s still true.

I’m here.
