Rescued at Christmas

Did you see this fantastical headline?

Thousands – Millions Rescued
Because of Christmas

I want to read more, don’t you?  Where?  How?  Who did the rescuing?

Read all about it – in the songs, the scriptures, and the sounds of the season.

The rescuer … His name is Jesus.  He is YOUR Savior, Christ the Lord.

He came to seek and to rescue (save) those who are lost.  Need rescuing?  Don’t we all.

We need rescuing from ourselves mostly.  Our self-pity, our low self-confidence, our low images of ourselves, and we need rescuing from faulty thinking, faulty living, and a faulty sense of right and wrong.  We need to be pulled (rescued) out of sin.  What a visual that creates.

We are a people in need of a hero, a rescuer, or as the Bible puts it – we are a people in need a savior.

The Christmas carol says:

The Bible says:

When the angel appeared to the shepherds on the hillside, his words were full of hope and of salvation.

“Today your Savior (your Rescuer) was born … He is Christ, the Lord.”
~(Luke 2:11)

There is a happy ending to the Christmas story, isn’t there?

He came to rescue those who were lost and in need of being saved.

Thanks be to God!

Merry Christmas.
