On this Sunday before Thanksgiving let me offer you a word of hope.
In a world of diversity, distractions,
abundance and apathy, I cannot let this day go by without a simple observation
on Thanksgiving.
I’m taking my cue from the lyrics to a
loved gospel song by Andre Crouch.
How can I say
thanks
For the
things you have done for me
Things so
underserved
Yet you
give to prove your love for me
The voices
of a thousand angels
Could not express
my gratitude
All that I
am or ever hope to be
I give it
all to you
To God be
the glory
To God be
the glory
To God be
the glory
For the
things he has done
With his blood
he has saved me
With his power
he has raised me
To God be
the glory
For the
things he has done
Just let
me live my life
Let it be pleasing
Lord to Thee
And if I gain
any praise
Let it
flow to Calvary
With his blood
he has saved me
With his power
he has raised me
To God be
the glory
For the
things he has done
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the
summation of how I want to conduct my life.
I want to find opportunities to express praise and great thanks to the
one who knows me at my worst and best, and loves me in both extremes equally.
May you and those close to you find
expressions of thanks and praise for one another and for the Great God of the
Universe.
